This past July, we had the pleasure of honoring our 2024 DMC Driver of the Year, Rob Jensen of Fremont Contract Carriers, Inc. (FCC). DMC hosted an award ceremony at Rob’s home terminal in Fremont, NE, where his family, friends, colleagues, and the FCC leadership gathered to celebrate his exceptional commitment to safety and his accomplished career.
Rob’s many impressive achievements include four million accident-free miles with FCC, participation in seven Nebraska State Truck Driving Championships, and his 23-year tenure as a Nebraska President’s Safe Driver Club member. DMC’s EVP of Marketing & Analytics, Vikas Shah, presented the award and prize package to Rob, commenting, “Rob’s long driving history and dedication to teaching others in the profession has proven him an asset to our great industry. We are happy to be able to show our appreciation and recognition of his outstanding career.”
Leaders from FCC also came up to speak about the impact Rob has had at their company and how much they appreciate his work ethic and dedication. FCC’s owner, Mike Herre, gave a speech highlighting Rob’s exceptional driving record and commitment to his family, community, and employer.
Trey Novotny, Fremont’s VP of Safety, who nominated Rob for the award, also had wonderful comments: “Rob’s ability to deal with challenges on the road, his positive mindset while facing problems head-on, and his willingness to adapt and overcome are the qualities that make him so successful.”
After the award presentation, Rob’s co-workers took the opportunity to individually congratulate him and share stories about working alongside Rob over the years.

When asked about winning the award, Rob remarked, “An award like this is not something I expected. I just like to do what I do.” He humbly thanked everyone in attendance and those he has worked with over his 40+ years at FCC for their support in achieving everything he has.
The celebration concluded with a catered lunch for all in attendance, provided by DMC.
